Hello,

I'm not sure what happened to last week's blog update. I did it. Wrote down that I did it. Not there. Very strange.

I posted lots of grades last week and will do the same this week. 8th Grade students will be glazing their pottery so they can get their work back before the quarter ends.

Projects for this week:
6th Grade—Repetition
7th Grade—Tessallations
8th Grade—OP Art/Glazing

Behavior Infractions (Hawk Card Deductions) as of 5/6/11 :
6th Grade—4 (+/-0 From Last Week)
7th Grade—6 (+2 From Last Week)
8th Grade—11 (+3 From Last Week)

It is the students' responsibility to get their work done in class. If they cannot finish, it is also their responsibility to come into school in the mornings from 8:15 to 8:45 to finish and on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30. I will be  indicating in the comments that the Final Due Date for all past due projects during the fourth quarter will be 5/17/11. After that date all incomplete work will be given a grade of 50%.

Please check grades for 7th Grade Students. I have posted and corrected grades. I inadvertantly categorized a project as "Extra Credit." Grades dropped from what they were last week. But students still have the opportunity to make up any work that is owed.

Welcome to this first day of the last quarter of the year. It will be very informative and studens will be creating some great works of art.

Good afternoon,

Today begins the last week of the 3rd quarter. Many crazy things have happened during this quarter, most notably: Snowpocalypse! The students have done a great job but there are still some that need to finish projects that hey owe. I will extend the time until Wednesday morning. At 8:45 all work that is past due will receive a 50% for class participation. I have changed a few grades over already but they can be changed to another grade if work is turned in.

8th Grade—Landscape Painting

Tomorrow I will be unavailable to the students for the morning make-up session from 8:15-8:45. I will be staying after from 4:30-5:30.

Students who went to Jekyll Island last week are not exempt from their work and need to make it up. I will extend their deadlines three additional days. Their final due date will be 3/16/11.

As I write this at 8:24am, the class room is filled with students finishing work that they owe. It truly is an inspiring sight watching yioung artists create and also be responsible for their success. Good job!

Due to the changes inthe school calendar because of the "Snowpocalypse," I have moved the final due date for late work to 3/11/11.
