Quarter 4.13

Good Morning,

We have made it through another school year. This has been the longest time between blog postings this quarter. I have had to take off days because of a sick baby at home. But things there have settled down as they have here.

Each grade level has one more project for me to enter into iParent. I have made every effort to collect all student work. Please be aware that if you see a grade of 50% on projects and 0% for Journals, those grades were given after every opportunity to let the students make up work.

Behavior Infraction Update as of 5/15/09:
6th Grade—3 (+/-0 From Last Week)
7th Grade—19 (+4 From Last Week)
8th Grade—51 (+4 From Last Week)

I could do a final tally for behavior but I think that last week speaks for itself. The 8th grades this quarter exceeded all the previous quarters in infractions.

It was a great year and I hope that everybody has a great summer. Good luck to all the students heading off to high school. Good luck to our new 7th and 8th graders and an early welcome to our new 6th graders.

That's all for now.

Quarter 4.12 and GRADES

There are lots of them!!! I posted grades today for all classes and changed zeroes on past due late work to 50%.

Students can still come in to make up work, even the past due work. After 5/22 the grades are final.

That's all for now

Quarter 4.11 and GRADES

Dear Parents,

This week I will be updating grades. This update will include new work as well as old work.If work has not been completed or turned in, it will receive a grade of 50%. That grade will cover time spent in the class working. I continue to allow students to come in and finish assignments, even from the first week of this quarter.

Projects for this week are as follows:
8th Grade: Landscape  Painting
6th Grade: Repetition
7th Grade: Monochromatic Painting

Behavior Infraction Update as of 5/1/09:
6th Grade—3 (+/-0 From Last Week)
7th Grade—15 (+3 From Last Week)
8th Grade—47 (+7 From Last Week)

With 10 days left in school, the 8th grade has earned more behavior infractions than there are days in the quarter.

Live Long and Prosper

Quarter 4.10

Good early morning,

Hopefully there will not be too many typos on this blog. I was up until 1:30am editing a movie for one of my professional development classes. It's really quiet at that time of the night.

Behavior Infraction Update as of 5/1/09:

The end of the year is fast approaching, but class is still in session. After some really good days, the 8th Grade is slipping back into bad habits. We have 13 days of school left. Let's make it a great 13 days!

Quarter 4.7

Good morning,

It is one day before the CRCT and the year is coming to a close very fast. I must always repeat myself about students not finishing work. I am available almost every morning for students to come in and complete anything that they owe. Many students are just not taking advantage of that opportunity.

I would like to thank all of the students who thought my horrible performance during the CRCT Pep Rally was really good. It's nice to know that some are working on their A's!

Projects will be listed when the schedule is finalized for the PE/Connections team.

Quarter 4.5

April Fools!

Nah. Just kidding. I wanted to do a mid week post to let parents know that more grades would be entered on iParent today and to commend the 6th Grade on their behavior. WOW!

The 6th grade is working on a painting project and I have never been more impressed with a group of students! They are all painting masterpieces that will be proudly on display after the break.

That's all for now.
