Last day stuff

I can't say that everyday has been great or even easy, but that is the best part of being a middle school teacher.  Everyday is different and a challenge, and it certainly has been worth it to see you guys grow so much.  I will miss each and every one of you.  I wish you the best in all you do, and I hope your high school experience is awesome. I want to leave you with one quote that I hope you always remember:

Journal entry #115: Summarize chapters eleven and twelve.

Students worked on their Character activity for The Giver.  In this activity we created silhouettes of a main character in the novel.  We filled these silhouettes with pictures and illustrations that represent the character of our choice.  We will continue to work on this on Friday.  The assignment is due on Monday.

We also went over the chapter questions and chart from chapters six through ten. 

Homework:  No homework.

Journal Entry #115:  Summarize chapter 10

Students participated in an activity.  They were asked to create a chart that compares and contrasts Jonas's new rules as the Receiver and the rules of the community.  List at least ten of the community's rules and all of the rules for Jonas.  This is due Friday.

Homework: Make sure you have read chapters eleven and twelve in The Giver.  Chapter six through ten questions and the Age chart are due tomorrow.
