Fri., May 22 (with Summer Review Websites)

Ahhhh . . . the last day of school!  As Dr. Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over.  Smile because it happened."  I am definitely smiling as it was a truly great school year!  I hope your summer is just as wonderful as you are.  Be safe, and come back and visit next year.

Also, please remember that it really does help retain your math skills if you spend even 15-20 minutes 1-2 times a week reviewing and practicing using either a math workbook or one of the many interactive websites available.  Attached is a list of great websites, but you can always search for the topic you want to review, too.

Thur., May 21

Periods 1 and 3 took the Math 7 Final Exam.  Period 5 had study hall and cleaned out lockers.

Collected:  Final Exams and Entrepreneur Project Evaluation (extra credit).

Homework:  Periods 2, 4, and 5 - Study/re-work problems from the 4Q Benchmark Test Study Guide to prepare for the Final Exam. 

Reminders:  Textbooks must be turned in tomorrow.  Replacement cost is $54.95.

The remaining teams/companies presented their Entrepreneur Projects today. 

Collected:  Entrepreneur Projects from all teams.  ALL LATE WORK WAS DUE TODAY.

Homework:  Study/re-work problems from the 4Q Benchmark Test Study Guide to review for the Final Exam.  Periods 1 and 3 have their Math Final on Thursday, and Periods 2, 4, and 5 have their Math Final on Friday.

Reminders:  Textbooks were due yesterday; please bring them tomorrow.  The replacement cost is $54.95.

Today students presented their Entrepreneur Projects to the class.  The teams/companies did an outstanding job today!  Their unique and innovative products are intriguing and very creative.

Collected:  Entrepreneur Project folders/work from teams that presented today.

Homework:  Keep reviewing/re-working problems from your 4Q Benchmark Test Study Guide for the Final Exam on Thursday or Friday.

Mon., May 18

Today was the final work day on the Entrepreneur Project.  Team members evaluated each other, drew for presentation order, and finalized their project for presentation on either Tuesday or Wednesday. 

Homework:  Be ready to present tomorrow or Wednesday (according to the order determined today).

Reminders:  Textbooks are due tomorrow, 5/19.  ALL LATE WORK IS DUE ON WEDNESDAY, 5/20.  Final Exam is on Thursday or Friday.  Continue to use the 4Q Benchmark Test Study Guide as review.

Thur., May 14 & Fri., May 15

Students took the 4Q Benchmark Test in class both days.  After completing the test, students were able to either 1) re-take the Quiz over Integer Operations, Fraction Operations, and Conversions (with parent signature on the original quiz and all missed problems corrected on notebook paper), or 2) work on their Entrepreneur Project. 

There will be 2 additional opportunities to re-take the Quiz:  1) Tuesday, 5/19, at 8:15am during the regular morning help session, or 2) Thursday, 5/21, or Friday, 5/22, after the Final Exam. 

Homework:  1) On Thursday night, continue studying for the Benchmark Test.  2) Make sure the Entrepreneur Project is ready for proofreading and presentation preparation on Monday.  Entrepreneur Projects will be presented on Tuesday, 5/19, and Wednesday, 5/20, in class.  This project counts as a 125 point test grade. 

Reminders:  Textbooks are due by Tuesday, May 19.

Today students worked with a partner to complete the 4Q Benchmark Test Study Guide, and checked answers.

Homework:  Study for 4Q Benchmark Test, which starts tomorrow, Thursday, May 14, in the classroom, and concludes on Friday, May 15, in Computer Lab 622.

Today we took a Quiz over Integer Operations (7th grade), Fraction Operations, & Conversions between Fractions, Decimals, and Percents (both 6th grade).  Students then worked on the 4Q Benchmark Test Study Guide, and checked answers.

Today students continued to work with their team/company on the Entrepreneur Project.  The teams should have finished Part 4 today.  All work for the required parts 1-4 should have been completed by today.  Teams should go back and check all work - all items addressed, all questions answered in complete sentences, all work shown, etc.
