Tues., May 24 & Wed., May 25

On Tuesday, periods 1 and 4 took the Math 8 Final Exam, and on Wednesday, periods 2 and 3 took the final exam.

Mon., May 23

Today we finished reviewing the final section of problems on the Final Exam Study Guide.  Then we reviewed with Jeopardy.  5th period took their final exam at the end of the day today.

Homework:  Study for the final by reworking problems from the Final Exam Study Guide.

Fri., May 20

Walk to Hillgrove and 8th Grade Awards Ceremony. 

Today was the very last day to turn in LATE WORK for 4Q.

Homework:  Final Exam Study Guide, #1-50 should be done by Monday. 

Thur., May 19

Today we continued working on the Final Exam Study Guide with a partner.  As we worked, each student was given a problem from the second part of the study guide to work on the board, so students could check their work and ask questions about any problem they were unclear on.

Wed., May 18

Tues., May 17

Today we reviewed, checked homework, and then took the Polynomials Quiz.  Students were able to use their notes on the quiz.  After the quiz, students started working on the Final Exam Study Guide.

Collected:  Polynomials Quiz and 7-6 & 7-7 Practice B worksheets.

Mon., May 16

Today we continued our lesson on polynomials, and reviewed how to add and subtract polynomials and how to multiply polynomials.

Fri., May 13

Today we continued our lesson on polynomials, and learned how to name polynomials using the degree and number of terms.  We then added and subtracted polynomials.

Thur., May 12

Today we worked with the graphing calculators and learned to graph a function using a table and then just by entering the equation.  By "tracing" the graph, we were able to identify the key characteristics - zeros, y-intercept, minimum, and maximum. 

Then we started the lesson on polynomials, and learned how to find the degree of a monomial and the degree of a polynomial.  We also learned how to write a polynomial in standard form.

Homework:  1) 7-5 Reteach on Polynomials - pg. 38.  2) Simplifying Expressions Puzzle for those rejoining the class >> due TOMORROW.  ALL LATE WORK is due by Friday, May 20.

Wed., May 11

Today was the 8th grade field trip to Warm Springs and Andersonville.  Students not going on the trip watched 2 videos about those 2 areas.
