Practice this week!!
Practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the month of January.
On February we will have practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday in preparation for upcoming step competitions. More info to follow.

The step team will resume practice on Tuesday 1/15, Wednesday1/16 and Thurs 1/17.

Step Team Competition Cancelled
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Silver Steppers will not be performing on Friday 12/14 for the Bring It Back Step Show competition.We would be the only Middle School competing. Other middle school teams were either unprepared or didn't get prior approval and had to back out. Also the uniforms wouldn't be ready in time for this performance. We were misquoted on the price and the turnaround time was too short. We still anticipate getting the uniforms, but will have to do a fundraiser to offset the cost, which was a $200 difference.
However, we look forward to other competitions in 2008 and even (hopefully) a field trip to see a live step team competition.

LOVINGGOOD PERFORMANCE
The Silver Steppers have been invited to perform at the TASTE OF LOVINGGOOD on Friday December 7, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. Members will wear their T-shirts with black jeans and black tennis shoes.
DEADLINE FOR STEP TEAM UNIFORMS IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30. THE COST IS $60. MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO LOVINGOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL.

Today the studetns did a carousel activity in which they worked in cooperative groups to label different plant and animal cells. (Refresher from the holidays)
Afterwards, we discussed the expectations for the answer to the essential question: What is the relationship between cell structures and functions. We brainstormed key words that should be included and also the organization of their answer (Introduction, Body with supporting details, & Conclusion)
HOMEWORK: COMPLETE THE EQ RESPONSE (which is a rough draft).

Step Practices!!
As our step competition draws near, it is imperative that all members come to practice. If a member misses any practices between Thursday 11/15 and 12/13, they will not be able to perform at the Bring It Back Step Competition on Friday 12/14 at Girls, Inc., which is located near the Cobb Civic Center.
HOPEFULLY, ALL PARENTS HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER PERTAINING TO THE STEP UNIFORMS. THE UNIFORM (SHIRT, PANTS, JACKET, HAT AND SOCKS) WILL COST $60 PER MEMBER. EACH MEMBER SHOULD PURCHASE THEIR OWN TENNIS SHOES, WHICH SHOULD BE LOW-TOP AND WHITE ALL OVER.
SO THAT WE WILL RECEIVE THE ORDER BEFORE OUR COMPETITION, THE MONEY SHOULD BE SENT TO THE SCHOOL NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 11/30/07. MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: LOVINGGOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL AND DENOTE STEP TEAM.
