Guided Reading

Today we did a guided reading activity.  This was done in class. 

4th period watched the final presentation.  There was an assignment given by the students, they stated as you left to just answer what you could since they didn't have time to cover all the information.  The packet I gave you is not homework and should be brought with you to class tomorrow.

Homework: The decades quiz was moved to tomorrow so you have an extra night to study.  Also...make sure you are refreshing your memory with the study guide for the final exam.

Quiz Tomorrow

Our last decade, the 1990's, presented today.  Your homework tonight is to complete your assignment over the 1990's and study for you quiz over the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s that you will take tomorrow.

Yesterday and Today

The picnic was great and you all looked wonderful this morning for the Honor's Assembly!  5 more days and still more grades to come.  Don't forget that your final is worth 15% of your total grade.  The study guide was posted today under pages. 

You should also be studying for your 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90's quiz!  You have all the notes except for the 90's!

Can't wait to see you all at the dance!

 

Why did I (my child) get that grade on the Decade Presentation?

Look at the project guidelines that I gave out on April 23.  Check the rubric on my blog from last week.  Look at the graded rubric returned to the group. 

The presentations are graded on the criteria that was given to the students prior to the week of class time that I gave the groups (chosen by the students) to work on their projects.  42 of the possible 100 points comes from the information.  If some information is not covered, the grade will suffer.  It really is that simple.

Some projects have been very good...others...well all I can say is this was your chance to have fun.  Dress up, bring in items, play music, share information...but overall I will say they haven't been up to snuff.

Today we learned about the 1970's.

1940's

Today, in all classes but one, we were taught a lesson about the 1940's.  You should complete your assignment tonight.  1920's, you should have your papers graded by tomorrow.

5th period watched a video about the Bombing of Pearl Harbor and WWII.  You should check the attachment below for supplemental notes.

1920's

We learned a lot today about the 1920's.  I especially liked hearing the music during 3rd period! 

1950's work was due today.  1960's due tomorrow.

Last class day to work on the project

Today was your last class day to work on your projects.  Make sure that your work is turned in to me on the due date (you cannot turn in things late).

On Monday...we will visit the Roaring Twenties!  If you are teaching on Monday, all of your work is due by Midnight tonight (you can email it to me if you haven't already).  You should dress professionally or to reflect your decade (this is for all groups).

Project Due Dates

Make sure you are following the timeline for your project.  20's and 40's work is due at the end of class tomorrow.  5th period has already turned theirs in to me.  Remember, you will have the entire period to teach and have them work activities.  You should dress for your decade or dress in professional dress.
