One week to Go!

Monday and Tuesday - In class - Students will be writing a response to literature.  All students received their options on Wednesday of last week.  The response will be written in class and is due at the end of class tomorrow.

Wednesday - Jeopardy review activity - This activity is a means to review for Finals on Thursday and Friday.  This final is the same 9-week assessment that students have taken 4 other times this year.  It is a tool to show growth.  This will be taken for a test grade.

Thursday - Finals for sections 3rd and 5th

Friday- Finals for sections 4th, 6th and 7th

Vocabulary Test Tomorrow!

Please study your key vocabulary from the novel.  You have a vocabulary assessment tomorrow.  In addition, students will receive a grade for their frames, double journal chart and pyramid.  Each of these are in his/her "Schwa" packet.

In addition, students received a grade for their second journal check.

Don't forget to complete your vocabulary words.  You will have a vocabulary assessment on Wednesday, May 13th.


Friday - Several students will be absent tomorrow due to field trips.  Here is what we will be doing in class.

-Complete novel - chapters 21 and 22.  Complete character development chart.

"Schwa" Journal Check Tomorrow!

Students listened to the audio version of chapters 17 and 18.

Reflection for 17 = Explain this statement: "You never realize when you make little choices, how big those choices can be."  Make a connection to your life.  Tell me about a little choice that you made that ended up to be a big choice for you or someone else.

Questions for 18 - What does Schwa do to get noticed?  What is the result?  How is this ironic?

Chapters 8 and 9

Today students were able to listen to the audio version of the novel.  We completed chapters 8 and 9.  Students should answer chapter 8 questions in your packet.

-Who is Lexie?   - What is her handicap?  -Is it really a weakness?   -Explain  -What is a negative and a positive regarding her handicap?

In class: Students received their first 'Schwa' journal check grade.

CRCT Ends Today!

Students completed the CRCT test today with the Social Studies portion of the test.

Students only went to their sections 5, 6 and 7.  We will return to a regular schedule tomorrow.

Sections 5, 6 and 7 read chapters 5 and 6.

The notes on visualizing sheet should be completed using chapter 5.
