Thank You!!!

It has been a pleasure getting to know you all.  Thanks for being excellent students and informative teachers.  Yes, that's right, teachers.  "The best teacher is also a student," according to a fortune cookie I ate a few years ago.

I encourage you to succeed and surpass what you believe to be possible.  If your confidence ever waivers believe that I believe in your potential.

Hello, I  am one of Ms. Nasta's students. (C.H.) Today in class we had sort of (unofficial) Shakespeare Friday.  Sadly, this is the last Shakespeare Friday for the year.  I really loved learning Shakespeare, reading the scrip' from "A Midsummer Nights Dream" and becoming familiar with the Bard's language.

Next week...we will diagram and then Quiz DGP #23, write thank you notes and review for the final.

John's word for the day: lacuna (oh, BTW Good Luck John and all the awesome 8h graders who we had the chance to cheer for this morning as they walked to HillGrove!)

Have an awesome weekend!

My eyes!

That's right, I am glad that my eyes hurt from reading comparison/contrast essay rough drafts. Congratulations on meeting today's deadline!

Tomorrow will be officially our last (unofficial) Shakespeare Friday.  We will also diagram DGP #23 and write thank you notes.  Ambitious.

You can do it...

I wonder what Michael Phelps thought after he won his seventh gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing?    That might have been when he said, "I want to test my maximum and see how much I can do."

I met with many of you today and read some well written rough drafts.  Thank you for being serious about this assignment.

Final drafts are due at the end of the period tomorrow.

John's word for the day: paroxysm

The race...

I know that it may be tempting to think that it's ok to not put forth your best effort because school is almost over.  Would you stop running right before the end of a race or take a nap in the dugout during the last inning?  This is the time to make sure that you are giving your all; finish strong.

Lance Armstrong said, " Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. "

Tomorrow: focus on completing the final draft of comparison/contrast essays.

John's word for the day: spasmodic
