Homework – Choose 1: Due Monday, November 8, 2010
- Find 10 examples of propaganda techniques used in online ads. Print out the ads and identify the target audience, the message, and the persuasive technique used in the ad.
- Watch TV. Choose one 30-minute comedy and one 60-minute drama show. Record the time slot, how many total commercials there were for each program. Then, choose 5 commercials from each show and identify the target audience, the message, what they were advertising, and what persuasive technique was used.
- Go through a magazine and record the total number of pages. Then, record the number of pages with ads, the names 10 companies that advertised in them, and identify which persuasive methods were used in each of those 10 ads.
Social Studies:
Monday: Work on completing and going over the study guide. Test on Nov. 3, project also due that day.
Tuesday: No school
Wednesday: Unit 3 test and start on Unit 4 vocabulary. Turned in project. Last day of unit 3, no late work accepted after today for Unit 3.
Thursday: Worked on Vocabulary for Unit 4, and began discussing economic terms. No H.W.
Friday: We finished up with the unit Vocabulary (to be checked on Monday) and finished going over the intro to Econ. power point:Download Economics; We then created a foldable and took notes on "The Three Economic Systems":Download THREE ECONOMIC SYSTEMS
