Language Arts:
NO TUTORING ON 9/28!!!
We will be starting a novel unit on The Outsiders (by S.E. Hinton) on Monday, October 4th. We will have a class set of this novel, but please feel free to purchase your own novel. There may be work done outside of class based on what we read each day, so it might be better to have your own copy.
Monday -Wednesday:
Students worked on editing their fictional narratives for dialogue errors and developing ideas, organization, and proofreading. If time permitted, they started on the powerpoint creation. We are working on Powerpoints in class and they must be completed by end of class on Wednesday.

H.W.:
Period 4 received their graded theme song essays back. They have until Oct. 5 to correct and resubmit if they choose to do so.
Social Studies:
Monday:
Today in Social Studies we reviewed the E.Q? Why was Israel established (see powerpoint Download Why was Israel established); we worked on finishing the "4 Square Perspective" organizers, and the Opposition Position handouts. We also worked on guided reading.
H.W.:
Students should be working on their " Taste of the Middle East" projects that are due Oct. 4. Students need to also be studying for the Unit 2 test that will be on Oct. 5. Study guides will be distributed this week.
Tuesday:
"Taste of Southwest Asia" projects are due on Oct. 4!
Students turned in Graphic organizer notes for "Decades of Distrust", "4 Square Perspective", and "Opposing Positions" for grading. We read about U.S. involvement in Southwest Asia and completed a guided reading activity. Students received their study guides for Unit 2 test.
