March 29-April 2

Monday: Students completed a context clues review for the previous week's warm-ups.  We then worked on completing the CRCT error analysis in our jigsaw groups.  We will share our analysis and start review stations tomorrow.

Tuesday: Today we began our station work for CRCT standards review.  We will continue these review stations the rest of the week.  I am still in the process of grading the how to presentations, as well as a few other assignments.  Thanks for your patience.

Wednesday: We continued our station work.  Tomorrow we will be going to the media center to renew our nonfiction books that must be logged by 4/14.  This is also an opportunity for students to check out a book of their choosing to read over spring break in order to add to the reading log.

March 22-26

Monday: We worked on CRCT error analysis review of packets from Friday

Tuesday: We went to the media center today to check out our nonfiction books.  Those must be logged and read by April 14th.  Don't forget that Group A presents their "How To" books tomorrow.  You will need to have your hot pink rubrics with you for grading!

Wednesday: Group A presents their How to presentations and Group B takes notes on at least 5 presentations

Thursday: Group B presents their How to presentations and Group A takes notes on at least 5 presentations

Friday: We will be finishing up any presentations not yet done and working on the CRCT error analysis.

March 15-19

Monday: Went over "How To" projects.  Parent signature on rubric due 3/17.  Projects will be due 3/24-3/25, depending on the day the student draws.  We will work on these in class 3/15-1/17.  Most of this will need to be done outside of class.

UPDATE: Reading logs checks and book due dates have been moved back again! Next check for 2600 pages and a nonfiction book will be 4/14.  The last check will be 5/12 for 3200 pp.

Tuesday: Please check your student's agenda today for important notes.  Several students did not have their how-to books in class today!  Tomorrow  will be the last in-class day to work on the How to projects; all other work must be done at home.

The Field Trip is in DANGER!!

URGENT MESSAGE to the sixth graders who forgot to bring their field trip money. You may bring it Monday.  We hope by granting this extension that everyone will get to attend the Lightning Thief movie.  If you have not brought in your money or permission slip, please write a note in your agenda, have your friends text you a reminder, tie a string around your finger...do WHATEVER it takes to help yourself remember.  There will be no other time extensions.

First, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you that gave me birthday wishes!  You made is such a wonderful day!

Monday: Worked on grading packets.  Today was it; if the questions weren't complete, no credit was given as the students were allowed an entire extra week of in-class time to complete the packets.
