In November, I applied for a Grant from Target to help supplement my 8th grade field trip to North Metro Technical College.  In December, I was notified that I would be awarded the grant.  In January I received the grant check and a great box of goodies to take along on the field trip.

Target's committment to education with the Field Trip Grants is allowing me to take education on the road and give my students real life experiences.  Through this program, 5000 grants were distributed totalling $4million.  I was selected from more than 25,000 applicants to receive grant money.  WHAT A GREAT HONOR!!!

DID YOU KNOW?  Target gives 5% of its income to organizations that support education, the arts, social services, and volunteerism.  Target states: "That translates to over $3million per week".

On our visit to North Metro Technical College, students are able to tour the campus, attend an information session, and take part in a career presentation group project.  It is a great opportunity to see first hand what programs a technical college has to offer and gets the students "thinking" about their future careers.....whatever that may be!
