Honor Band/All State Information

Auditions for the 2010-2011 District 12 Honor and All-State Band are THis Saturday, December 4th at Dodgen Middle School. Students have already been given their assigned times. Plese show up 30 minute before audition time to find room and warm up. See below for directions to Dodgen and a map of their campus.

7th grade concert Monday, December 6th

Please see below for 7th grade concert information:

Date: Monday, December 6th

Place: Lovinggood MS Auditorium

Time: 7:00 pm (students report at 6:15) - concert should end at app. 7:30 pm

Dress: Band Uniform per the band handbook

Disney Final Payment Due Dec. 15!

Reminder that all outstanding Disney Fees should be paid in full no later than December 15 in order to participate in the trip. This trip is very exiting as students will be partaking in an educational experience in learning about music technology and studio production. Students will also be sight reading a movie score and working with a composer!

8-1 Band Pictures Thursday!

We will be taking a full band picture during the 8-1 class on Thursday, November 18th. All 8-1 band students must bring entire uniform to school on thursday, November 18th.

UGA Midfest Update (8-1)

The students have been doing well in our preparation for UGA Midfest concert on December 10th. We handed out an information packet full of information and lunch/bus seat reservations. Please see the attached information packet.

Band Uniforms are in!

Band uniforms for 7th and 8th grade have been delivered and will be handed out once payment is recieved. Payment is due November 12. Please make checks payable to Lovinggood MS and place into a black box.

Disney Payment #3 (8th grade)

Just a reminder that Disney payment #3 is Due November 15th. The amount due is $100. PLease make checks payable to Lovinggood MS and place into a black box.

*** NOTE *** FYI- we have instituted a Dominos Pizza Card fundraiser for assist students in raising fees for Disney. Cards are $10 and $5 of money raised goes directly to the students' account. Money and order froms are Due November 12.

Band Uniforms are in!! (7th/8th grade only)

In August, 7th and 8th graders were measured for uniforms. The uniforms have arrived and we will begin handing them out as students pay for them. See below for more information:

8th Graders - We are using the same uniform as last year. The only people who were measured are thiose who (1) lost their uniform or (2) outgrew it or (3) are new to our program.

7th Graders - All 7th graders were measured

Costs:

Tux shirt/cumberbund/bow tie combo = $23

Bow tie only = $4

Bow tie/cumberbund = $9

Cumberbund only - $5

Ladies bouse - $29

Please make checks payable to Lovinggood MS, label with student name and "band uniform",  and place in an envelope and put in a black box.

October has been a very rewarding month for the HIllgrove Marching Band! We would like to acknowledge the hard work of Mr. Ferrell, Mr. Erwin, the whole staff and our former Silverwhawk band members for their huge success thus far! We are proud of you!

Practice Log Reminder

Just a reminder that all practice logs are due every Monday. Logs MUST BE SIGNED to be valid. New practice logs for the 2nd nine weeks have been handed out. In the event your log is lost, you can download a new one from the "Practice Log" link to the right of this blog.
