GET YOUR 3-A-DAY OF DAIRY

What's 3-A-Day of Dairy?   National Dairy Council
Research shows that on average, Americans are eating only half the daily recommended servings of dairy. 3-A-Day of Dairy was created as a simple reminder for families to get 3 daily servings of milk, cheese or yogurt for stronger bones and better bodies. Dairy provides nine essential nutrients, including calcium, potassium, phosphorus, protein, vitamins A, D and B12, riboflavin, and niacin (niacin equivalents).

What's a serving of dairy?

  • Milk: one serving is 8 ounces (1 cup).
  • Cheese (natural e.g. Cheddar, Mozzarella): one serving is 1-1.5 ounces of cheese or the size of 3-4 cheese cubes.
  • Yogurt: one serving is one 6 or 8-ounce container of yogurt.

ATTENTION 6th & 7th GRADERS

The Cobb County Food & Nutrition Department is in the process of creating new menu's for next school year.  I would like your input to help us create a menu you will enjoy.

If there is an item you would like to see added to the menu next year please let me know.  Keep in mind that cost is a factor in determining what we will add to the menu.

Please write down your suggestions for entree items and vegetable items that you would like to see next year.

Everyone that turns in their ideas will be entered into a drawing for an itunes gift card.

Please bring your ideas to me, Mrs. Stufflebeam, in the cafeteria.

MEAL PAY PLUS UPGRADE! IMPORTANT!

We are excited to let you know that we will offer you a new and improved MealpayPlus beginning on January 1st, 2008!

We have added upgraded enhancements and features to MealpayPlus to continue to offer you the convenience and information you need to manage your student's account. In addition to a new state-of-the-art parent support center, you will have the ability to view pending and confirmed payments!

Due to system upgrades, each parent will need to register or re-register their account on MealpayPlus.com on or after January 1st, 2008. Please do not re-register prior to January 1st, 2008. Instructions on how to register are listed on MealpayPlus. All account balances and deposits made through MealpayPlus before the end of the year will reflect on your new account once you have re-registered.

Don't forget to reset your Low-Balance Email Reminders and Auto-Replenish payments. These settings will need to be re-activated on your new account.

For those parents not familiar with the system, MealpayPlus allows parents to go online to MealpayPlus to manage your student's meal account. MealpayPlus allows you to make deposits, view account balances at no cost, and even create settings to auto-replenish your account or receive free reminder emails when the balance is low.
